چکیده

The field experiments were conducted at Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Kalyani, West Bengal, India during kharif seasons (July–October) of 2013 and 2014 to evaluate the efficacy different bio-rational pesticides against major production constrains pigeon pea which is pod borer complex. laid out following randomized block design comprising eleven treatments including control with three replications. Treatments applied twice pneumatic knapsack fifteen days interval starting initiation target pest formation stage. Pre-treatment counts larvae lepidopteran borers had been taken from arbitrarily selected five tagged plants every replication discarding border effect subsequently post treatment have 3, 7 14 after each spray. Number maggots per recorded for fly infestation before spray Pooled two years results revealed that flubendiamide lowest mean larval population Helicoverpa armigera (0.98 plant-1) Maruca vitrata (0.65 highest seed yield.Among bio-pesticides, Bacillus thuringiensis azadirachtinfound beeffective complex in pea. data showed fenvalerate, spinosad effective 1.13, 1.63 1.75 pod-1 respectively.

Critical Review on Bioefficacy of Insecticides against Pod Borer Complex in Pigeonpea

INTRODUCTION Pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan L. Millsp.) is an important pulse crop in the semi-arid tropics and subtropical farming systems, providing high quality vegetable protein, animal feed and firewood (Mittal and Ujagir, 2005). The crop yields are generally hampered by many pests, which are problematic over years (Kumar and Nath, 2002). Major constraint in the production of pigeonpea is the da...

Efficacy of Some Synthetic and Biopesticides Against Pod Borer, Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) in Chickpea

Efficacy of some synthetic and biopesticides against pod borer, Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) damage in chickpea was studied at the Regional Agricultural Research Station, Ishurdi, Pabna, Bangladesh during rabi cropping season of 2004-05. Synthetic and biopesticides reduced pod borer damage significantly. Significantly lowest pod damage was observed in cypermethrin (5.75%) and HNPV (5.86%) spra...

Bio-Management of Plant-Parasitic Nematodes in Pigeon Pea Field Crop Using Neem-Based Products and Manurial Treatments

A field plots experiment was carried to investigate the influence of soil applications of neem-based (Achook and Nimbidin) and crop fertilizer (urea and cattle manure) treatments, separately and in combination on free-living and plant-pathogenic nematode populations and crop productivity. Data regarding the results showed that all the treatments significantly decreased the number of plant-paras...
